India Abroad

My mom pointed me to this article in The Hindu, Sunday magazine section on April 29th, '07.

As an alumni of Virginia Tech., the entire incident needless to say was too close to home. I do not know any of the victims, but words can't express my feelings towards the entire incident.

It is people like Professor Loganathan who establish a reputation for a the society of Indians living abroad. I cannot help but think that for many people, knowing the professor was like knowing so many of Indians. It is people like GV who by excelling in their professions have opened multiple avenues for other people with a similar background.

Reading the comments of all the students and colleagues, we can feel the loss of a person who had a far reaching influence. I hope our memory of the fallen Hokies doesn't begin and end with the incident. Each one must have been a hero to their loved ones.
